Instructors are responsible for high quality member experience, and interacting with Stamford Yoga students, and participation in studio wide team initiatives.
Essential Job Duties
Enthusiasm for Stamford Yoga Center, and a personal connection to Yoga in Real Life.
Continue to develop yoga practice and level of knowledge of the yogic path.
Seeks a deeper understanding of how Yoga relates to life, community and connection.
Maintain 2 weekly classes and some desk coverage, including some evenings and 1 weekend day (Saturday or Sunday).
Arrives a minimum of 15 minutes prior to class to greet students and spends a minimum of 15 minutes after class to be available for questions.
Responsible for setting the tone for a fun, welcoming, and professional experience for students.
Learns student names and follows up with them after class as per Stamford Yoga protocols.
Works in tandem with Welcome Ambassadors on a variety of studio wide initiatives and member experience.
Subs for colleagues at least as often as requesting coverage.
Helps ensure that the physical studio space meets the exceptional standards of excellence put forth by Stamford Yoga Center (includes blanket folding and making sure the studio is left as clean as it was prior to class).
Ensures class (environment and delivery) complies with the format guidelines and high standards of Stamford Yoga Center.
Minimum of a 200 hour certificate required, preferred 2 years teaching experience or 400+ Hours. Preferred experience in alignment and vinyasa based classes, as well as training in one additional format such as group fitness, Yin & Restorative, Pre-natal, Meditation, Yoga Nidra, Pilates, Barre, or Personal Training.
